Buffalo Fork

$500.00

This cow elk skull was found on the Buffalo Fork River, Spring 2020. It was submerged under cold, icy water on a sandy bank. It glowed underwater like a true treasure. I cleaned it by hand and with care and precision. Acrylic on bone with a matte finish. The nose tip and the right eye socket has some unique wear, but I believe this gives the piece some rustic character and shares a glimpse into its journey down river. Each skull is unique in terms of imperfections and tells it’s own unique story in relation to natural elements such as sun, water and the animal’s history. It’s my hope to share as much of the story as possible with my customers.
